after 2 days of drying the varnish has really lightened in colour
coat 2 and it is already looking a lot darker, I love the way the figure shines through
this is a better represtentation of the colour, not a clean job but I am please with it
again after another 2 to 3 coats it is going to bew pretty dark in colour
this time for the front and back I switched to a 60mm brush and it made it a lot easier, except around the f-holes
it is vary hard not to get the varnish to pool and then I have found trying to remove it makes a bigger mess, so it is going to stay
there are so many tool marks showing through, some may think this is not good but I love the effect and am glad as it shows the hand made nature
multi leveled varnish around the ff's as it is hard in this area. making the cello was one thine but varnishing! Thats another.
on the front there are lots of areas like this where the spruce was not smooth and the varnish soaked in.
