to give a lot of control over the plane on the neck root I had to clamp it down like this
lining the bridge blank up in the centre
the neck is too far off to the left so back to work with the chisel
this is how I have been working on the mortice
chisels, rulers and chalk are the tools that are being used on this part
to get the depth of the mortice I had to grind the back of this chisel
now the fingerboard is off to the right!
after more adjustments is is time for a test clamp
the neck root on the button is a good fit
so is the sides of the neck, a clean joint
it has taken me about 16 hours to cut this mortice in little baby steps, and I am very pleased with the result
the neck is now glued in and now the waiting time begins until it is dry
wow this is looking pretty good
