using a microplan rasp to create the initial shape of the neck

using the saw to thin the nut down to a little over the correct thickness

after some shaping and gluing the nut on it is looking a lot better

a slightly thick neck pretty much ready to glue on

using a knife to create the bevel on the body edges where the plane wont work

on the outer edges the plane works well
