the platform is now at the correct level in the c-bout

I found the best way of trimming the spurce with minimal chipping is with the chisel upside down

the edge here has been trimmed with the chisel

the purfling platform is now flat all the way around

using the pencil and my marking thingy to give a contour map, not too bad considering it was done without any guides

there is a chip from the plane but once it is all finished off it will be gone

next step is for the purfling to be done before final arching

all the bits of wood that were removed when I cut the belly out

thats a fair bit of wood to remove by hand!
