marking a grid with the plate thicknesses

this is the plan for the plate graduations, a bit all over the place.

using a bit of masking tape to help stop marking the outer side of the plate

the punch was still marking the outer plate and awkward to use so I switched to my drill press

the drill press does not have a very deep throat so I drilled what I could and will "wing" the rest

swiss cheese anyone?

using the new ibex palm plane to remove the wood. even though is it a palm plane it is still really hard on the hands

I am about half way down to the 10mm thickness and it only took me 4 hours!
