the new tool for today is the micro plane thingy & it is GREAT!
it leaves such a nice edge without as much work, I wish I had this tool a lot earlier
I am pretty happy with the result of the microplane
finally, the actual outline of the cello in real size and I love it
marking the edge thicknesses, the edges and button are 6mm, c-bouts 5.5mm and the rest 5mm
the edges which go from one size to another I used a pencil instead of the gauge
now the gouging continues
reducing the thickness in the c-bouts, still a bit to go
one side is done, it only took me 2 hours
all it needs now is cleaning and flattening
you can see the different thicknesses on the edges
the shadow shows the edge is still a little un-even
one side low and the next side is still high
after 5 hours I am at this level and time to call it quits for the day
