checking the top of the ribs for gaps and workign out where to plane

off I go again with the block plane

it is time to start rounding the linings with a really sharp knife

this scraper works really well in finishing after removing the wood with the knife

again with the scraper the to clean up the carving

this knife sure works well in carving the spruce cleanly

the top linings are now done but it is hard to photograph them

using the light in this way makes it easy to see the shape the linings are going

the linings recessed into the corner block

the recessed linings in both the upper and lower blocks

all the corner blocks and the shape of the c bouts
