Using a file to clean up and try to square the inner edge of the block
for a different side I tried a round piece of wood with wet & dry paper
the gluing face is starting to look good
cardboard works well to measure the correct lenth for the actual rib
now spin the whole thing around and start on the other side
thoe outline with the inner parts cut out for the "C" ribs
measure and mark the oversized length of the "C" ribs but using a square to keep it all acurate
The piece of hard wood works well in keeing the saw square and on line
now with the ribs cut out, it is time to break out the bending iron for the first time, all very exciting
the first "C" rib all bent to shape, surprising this was a lot easier than I thought it would be
when I first started I had the iron too hot so there are some light burn marks on this rib
both ribs bent, the second one was so much easier than the first, a damp cloth to steam the rib and then heat and bend
