This time I am approaching this differently from the back plate. A different way of holding the wood.

The lights and a quality straight edge show where all the highs and lows are

The side has a bit of wood to remove to get rid of the rough edges

Adeep dent from the back of the plane knocking the wood. A lesson in being a bit careless.

This lighting setup is great for showing where the gaps are.

It was not so hard getting the edges straight this time

It is a pity but with all the work on getting it true I forget to check for being at a right angle to the base. So I will have to redo it!
