The completed mould dis-assembled
the top layer, split for easy removal which will allow the lower two layers to be manoeuvred out of the ribs easily
The main assembly bolts and large assembly guides which fit in the c-bouts
the lower two layers with the space beams behind
fitting the wooden guides into the lower layer
Just so we know which layer it is!
A close up of the lower guide pin and the "B" is marked for identification of the spacer beams
the lower right spacer beam more writing for identification
the beam now sitting in place
the end spacer block for added support
the lower main section ready for the centre layer
the center layer being lowered into place
now we are ready for the upper support beams
the "A" marks the upper beams and we are ready for the top layers
top layers in place ready for the loose fitting of the bolts
start by adding the 5/16 main assembly bolts
make sure that the nuts are loose so we can move things around
adding the smaller 1/4 bolts
fitting the lower bout supports
as these are not main supports I only used 1/4" bolts
the lower bout supports in place
slowly tighten the bolts in a circular motion starting with the main bolts then to the smaller ones.
check top layer edges for being true and if not, loosen selected bolts and move the layer section to the right place, with all the bolts and guides it only moves ever so slightly.
I will not varnish it yet but use it for practice when it comes time to varnish the cello.
